WHO WE ARE:
Alan Whitehead founded the Kona Run race event in 2003 held annually in Northville, MI, Wicked Halloween Run in 2011, Kona Shamrock Run in 2012, and the Kona Chocolate Run in 2013 all held in Plymouth, MI. Also the Novi Half Marathon w/Nas Dastmalchi in 2014, the Kona Strawberry Run in 2015 & the Kona Cheesecake Run in 2016. Alan derived the name Kona Running Co. from his frequent visits to Hawaii & drinking Kona Coffee. Alan was on the Race Staff at the Detroit Free Press Marathon for three years and Race Director of the Parade Company's annual Detroit Turkey Trot for two years. The Kona Running Company is organizing the Kona Run with a 10 Mile, 10K, 5K & Maui Mile.
We are donating funds from the Kona Run to benefit local charitable & non-profit organizations: the Karmanos Cancer Institute, Northville Parks & Rec Dept., Northville Educational Foundation and University of Michigan CS Mott Children's Hospital.
